To be established means you have to rule. You, however, cannot govern what you don’t understand. Understanding is key. Understanding is based on knowledge. From this knowledge, we extract information and make meaning of it.
Understand definition: interpret or view something in a particular way;
Everything has a hierarchy attached to it, a system and protocol that it follows. If you believe in something, a series of information you digested brought you to that point. You received information, made some connection points, and came to a certain conclusion. If you believe you are ugly, you received some type of information, dissected it, and concluded that you were ugly. The same stands for you believing you are beautiful.
What does all this mean? Well, it’s straightforward. Do you want a different reality? Do you want to change your life? Do you want to make significant changes? Well, it starts with your belief; if you want to believe in something different, you must consume and digest different information to rewire what you believe. This is knowledge. Are you with me?
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6
The order is something like this: Knowledge (God’s wisdom), understanding (dissect and filter), and belief (the foundation you stand on). Get knowledge, get understanding, then form your belief.
Proverbs 1:17
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverted mouth I hate.
What you love indicates who you love. Who you love indicates the foundation that you stand on and what you follow. If you genuinely love God, you’ll observe what He tells you. If you find yourself in nightclubs, constantly lying, stealing, and destroying others, I wonder what voice you’re following. Who are you listening to? I can tell you it’s not God. So, before we talk about you getting this knowledge that will lead to positive change, we need to dive deeply into your life and look at what you follow.
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (John 8:44)
Imagine walking this earth thinking God is your father when it’s actually the devil. God forbid this in Jesus’ name! People fail to understand that God gives us instructions because He’s trying to protect us from elements we do not see or understand. There’s so much to say about this, but I want to keep this simple. If you wish to have knowledge (and God’s knowledge at that), start by reviewing your life and the paths you follow – for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
The year of establishment is all about making decrees (declarations), but we have to first do a relationship check. Look at the questions below:
– How is your relationship with God?
– If it needs improvement, what areas do you need to work on? (sin? Fear? Boldness etc.)
– How will you work on these areas?
– If you’re on track, what goals can you put in place to strengthen your relationship with God?
